Let’s get cooking!

Cooking For Life loves food . . . . but we love life more. Since 2002, Cooking for Life has given 360 of the most underprivileged people living in Uberlandia, Brazil an opportunity to live a life free from poverty.

At Cooking for Life, we believe that the best way to do this is to give people the skills and support they need to help themselves. In a culture that loves food and eating out, one of the quickest ways to get people on their feet is to give them the ability to work in a restaurant. Our free training courses were run from our own ‘not-for-profit’ restaurant and have become highly regarded by local industry. After an intensive 3 months training, our students were ready to work and the vast majority do.

Below is a video explaining the work of Cooking For Life:

Cooking For Life closed at the end of 2013.  We had been training young people for 12 years with a total of 36 training programmes completed with 360 students. We would like to thank all of you who have supported Cooking For Life over the years. Because of your support we have been able to reach out to and transform the lives of all these students and their families.

Throughout 2014 we tried to visit all of the 360 students who completed the training programmes. For more photos and information click here.
